Ms. Akins began her career at DCCTC in 2016 as a Teaching Assistant before launching the CDL permitting program in 2018 and the Logistics & Distribution program in 2022. She holds CLA, CLT, and Class A CDL certifications, along with an Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain Management. These industry credentials and hands-on experience allow her to bring real-world knowledge into the classroom and help prepare students for successful careers.
Outside of school, she is the proud mother of three and grandmother of two. In addition to spending time with family, she enjoys fishing, kayaking, and crafting in her shed. Her connection to our school runs deep, as her father taught here for 32 years. Ms. Akins says, “I am proud to carry on this family tradition of training the next generation of skilled workers.”
