After retiring from the United States Air Force in 2006, Mr. Careaga began a career in the manufacturing industry before transitioning into education. He spent four years with the Center for Advanced Studies in Charleston County, where he served as the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department Chair and was honored as Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Careaga credits an electricity class he took in high school as a key influence on his professional success. He shares, “I would not be where I am today without that class and that teacher. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to students at this stage in my career.”
Mr. Careaga holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. In his spare time, he enjoys tinkering and machining.
