Mr. Stallsmith’s three-decade career in the welding industry began at age 16 when he discovered his lifelong passion for the field through a high school CTE course. He been a teacher for more than 20 years, including a 17-year career at Trident Technical College, where he served as a Welding Instructor, Academic Program Director of Welding, and Associate Dean for the Manufacturing and Maintenance programs. He holds multiple certificates and degrees in both welding and CTE education. He is also a Certified Welding Inspector through the American Welding Society.

Reflecting on his transition to DCCTC, he shares, “While working at a large college was very rewarding, I wanted to teach at DCCTC because it is a smaller school where I can have a more direct and personal impact on student success.”
